Scroll to the top fast.

In Safari, Mail, Contacts, and many other apps, tap the status bar at the top of the screen — which displays the carrier information, time, and battery level — to scroll quickly to the top.

Choose your wallpaper.

In Settings, choose Wallpaper, tap the image of the Lock and Home screens, then tap one of your photo albums or tap Wallpaper for the Apple-designed images. Find the image you want, tap Set, and then choose whether to use it as wallpaper for your Lock screen, Home screen, or both.

Lock the screen orientation.

Double-click the Home button to bring up the multitasking interface, then swipe from left to right. Now tap the portrait orientation lock once to turn it on and again to turn it off.

Tap to zoom the camera.

Tap the screen to bring up the zoom control, then use the slider to zoom in and out up to 5x.

Use the compass
with maps.

Tap the Location button in Maps twice to use the built-in compass to orient the map based on the direction you are facing.

Learn some keyboard tricks.

• Tap the space bar twice, and iPhone adds a period and capitalizes the next word.
• To enter a number or symbol quickly, touch and hold , then select the key you want. Lifting your finger returns you to the alphabet keyboard.
• Touch and hold a letter to reveal a list of special characters.

Keep your inbox clean.

In Mail, you can delete or move messages in batches. From your inbox, tap Edit, select the messages you want to organize, then tap Delete or Move.

Cut, copy, and paste.

Find the text you want to edit in a note, email, web page, or other app. You can select a word by double-tapping it, and select more or less text by dragging the grab points. Then tap to cut, copy, or paste. To undo an edit, shake iPhone, then tap the Undo butto

If You Must Mount Your iPhone, Do it for Free

The flow of iPhone freebies continues with today with Phone Disk, a little Mac utility that enables you to access your iPhone or iPod touch’s file system from your desktop. Mounting your iPhone might sound a bit perverse, but it’s more geeky than it is kinky. With Phone Disk running on your Mac, you simply tether your iPhone or iPod touch it seamlessly mounts your filesystem so you can access your mobile device with your Finder or other desktop application. Why would you want to do this? Well, you could more easily open and edit your photos with your desktop image editing software, like Photoshop, which is much more powerful than any iPhone app for editing photos.
Phone Disk is now free until September 1st, 2010. If you register the app before that date you’ll enjoy a version of the software that never expires along with a lifetime of free upgrades. ipadock

PhotoFast has unveiled a slick new dock that will help people that have lots of Apple gear in their house to charge that stuff without taking up all their outlets. The dock is called the iPADock. The dock measures in at 68.5 x 140 x 190mm, which means it is pretty large. It weighs 800g and has compatibility with the iPad, iPhone, iPod touch, and nano. It can also read memory cards of all sorts and gets power from a 5A/5V DC adapter.

You can arrange the dock to charge different gadgets using the charge cables that come with the Apple gear. You can arrange the dock to hold an iPad and two iPhones or up to four iPhone size devices. If you have two iPads, they can also be charged at the same time. It also has slots for you to plug in your iPad Camera connection kit. Pricing is roughly $79 here or 2500 NDT with shipping set for September.

More free iphone games today

With so many iPhone games now available in the App Store, game developers are struggling to find ways of making their wares stand out so you and I can even find them. One of the newest marketing tricks being used is to make a paid game free for a limited time, usually a day or so. This increased the total number of downloads as people rush to get their free games. As the download count rises, so does the game’s App Store stats causing the app to appear much higher in the App Store categories for most popular. When this marketing technique is successful, the app pops right to the top 10 list and will remain there even after the free deal reverts back to a paid app. The good news for us is that we can get free games and apps if we’re quick enough to grab them before the freebie goes away.
This weekend we have two hot games that are free for today only. Earth vs. Moon is one of the best Missile Command clones available. It features excellent graphics, primary and secondary weapons, the Open Feint community integration, and a perk store where you can buy upgrades to your satellites. The other free game is Spartacus: Blood and Sand, a 3D fighting game set in gladiator days. Spartacus comes with multiple fighters to choose from, each with its own weapons, shields, and unique fighting styles. There are several game modes to choose from giving this game high replay value.
